Monday, June 20th, 2011Audi’s newest limited edition R8 is yet another reason to do unspeakable things in order to afford a car. Just like the original R8 GT, the Spyder is once again limited to only 333 being made, the R8 GT Spyder packs the same heat as the hard top version- 5.2-liter V10, 560-horsepower, 197-mph top speed, but is about 22o pounds lighter. 0-60 is a scant 3.6 seconds. Friday, June 17th, 2011Hot Wheels driver Tanner Foust landed the record breaking jump at this year’s Indy 500, but it almost didn’t happen at all. In this practice run video, you can see how close Tanner came to a grizzly end after what I’m sure was a major code brown moment for him and the crew. Check out the video below.

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011Ok, so this might not be 100% real. That’s definitely a BMW 1M, it’s for sure going fast and the stig looking driver is quite skilled. The CGI concrete car cookie cutter blocks though; not so much. Either way, it’s fun to watch and makes us all want to hoon around in a lil 1M. Enjoy.

TEAM HOTWHEELS INDY 500 RECORD BREAKING JUMP (VIDEO & PICS)
Monday, May 30th, 2011Today seems to be day of writing about records being broken by things rolling down huge ramps (which is totally fine, since who doesn’t enjoy that?). Team Hot Wheels pulled off their larger than life stunt after the Indy 500 yesterday, successfully launching a baja styled truck 332 ft through the air after dropping in on a 10 story high “door” with ramp. Piloted by Top Gear host Tanner Foust (aka Team Hot Wheels Yellow Driver), this stunt is now the world record for farthest distance ever jumped by a 4 wheel vehicle.

Monday, May 30th, 2011Not exactly automobile related, but it involves wheels and is awesome, so definitely worthy of a view. 24 year old Jed Mildon of New Zealand recently landed the world’s first ever triple backflip on a BMX bike; simultaneously securing his spot on New Zealand’s most ballsy list. Not sure how someone would even begin to spot a landing doing a triple backflip on a bicycle, but I’m glad Jed figured it out. Kudos to him for making history!

PAGANI HUAYRA- FAST, LOUD, CATFISH LIKE AND FLATULENT (VIDEO)
Wednesday, May 25th, 2011There is no doubt that Pagani’s $1.3 million dollar super car is a cut above the rest- an AMG twin turbo engine that provides 700bhp, 740lb ft of torque, 230mph top speed and (although childish) likes to pass gas under extreme driving conditions. Yes, pass gas. Watch the video below to see this beautiful car in action and listen in for some interesting sounds (2:21, 2:36, 2:40 and 2:49 are some great examples). According to Top Gear- “the car under ignites for a fraction of a millisecond while it changes gear, which chucks unburned fuel into the exhaust. When the engine resumes ignition, the fuel combusts, creating said ‘booffffffff’ sound.” Pardon you, Huayra.

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011Redbull- the company that proves you can do just about whatever you want if you are loaded, recently shut down Peachtree St. in the ATL so Rhys Millen and Ryan Tuerck could drift around town. As bystander William Boso so eloquently put it, “It’s pretty much one of the most bad-ass things I’ve ever seen.” Indeed, William, indeed.
