With an extra 45 hp, and a ton of other tweaks, the new 2012 Nissan GT-R is officially a beast. Last fall, the Japanese monster hit the Nürburgring, and successfully shaved 2.48 seconds off of it’s previous lap time. With a new and improved lap time of 7:24.22, the GT-R now has faster lap times than the Maserati MC12, Pagani Zonda F Clubsport, Ferrari Enzo and the Porsche Carrera GT. NOT TOO SHABBY. The 0-60 on the new GTR isn’t awful either, at a face stretching 2.9 seconds.

Thursday, March 17th, 2011With only 333 Audi R8 GTs being made, and only 90 of them coming to the US, limited edition never looked so damn good. The R8 GT is not only lighter than the standard R8 by 220 lbs, but it gets and extra 42 hp from the same 5.2 liter V10. That 560hp, that will propel you from 0-62 in 3.6 seconds. 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011After all the spy shots and random glimpses here and there, Lamborghini’s newest V12 flagship, the Aventador LP700-4 is finally here. The lighter, more powerful Lambo has a newly designed 6.5 litre V12 that produces 700hp, 60 more than the Murciélago it’s replacing. Thanks to the carbon fiber reinforced polymer structure (CFRP), which is also used in F1 race cars, the Aventador’s curb weight is just 3,472 lbs. That’s about 200 lbs lighter than the Murciélago, while the body’s torsional rigidity is much higher. This all makes for a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 217mph. Take a peek at the eye candy below. And even if you don’t speak German, the video is worth a watch just to see the car move, and for some acrobatic drumming (weird).
FIRST LOOK: Pagani Huayra
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011Move over Zonda, hello Huayra! Pagani revealed it’s replacement to the famed Zonda today, the Huayra. Looks aside (catfish-like front end, right?), the Huayra is a true hypercar. AMG was kind enough to build it’s power plant, a 6.0 liter twin turbo V12 that pushes over 700 hp and 811 lb/ft of torque. The Huayra will go from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, get up to 230 mph and tastes great with Cajun spices. Take a peek below for more pics and a vid.

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011Honestly, I really didn’t know what to expect of the FF, Ferrari’s first four wheel drive “family car”. And by family car, I mean there is room for 4 people and luggage, but little else resembles your typical family car. Replacing the 612 Scaglietti flagship, the FF has got a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 direct injection engine, with 651bhp and 504 lb-ft of torque. It will get you from 0 to 62mph in just 3.7 seconds and top off at 208mph. It’s shape is definitely different; part BMW M Coupe, part squashed Porsche Panamera, but it’s been steadily growing on me. Successor the the Murciélago, the newest car in Lamborghini’s arsenal will come with a massive 700 hp 6.5-liter V12, and is rumored to hit 0-60 in the sub 3 second range. Tip of the hat to whoever had a camera handy in Italy that night!

But after watching the clip below, I think a better title would have been Jeremy Clarkson: The Luckiest Bastard Ever. Tip of the hat to you, Mr. Clarkson. This video looks as though it has more exotics than a Victoria’s Secret runway show. Looking forward to it!
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept (pics)
Thursday, September 30th, 2010After all the hype over the past couple months, Lamborghini finally unveiled their new concept car, the Sesto Elemento (sixth element), at the Paris Auto Show yesterday. Be careful though; from the looks of it you could easily cut yourself just getting near this thing. While some like the exterior and others don’t, the true beauty of the this car is the claimed performance. By cutting the weight down to a mere 2,202 lbs, and using their 570hp V10, Lamborghini is saying that the Sesto will rocket you 0-60mph in an astonishing 2.5 seconds. DAMN.

Once built, the Dagger GT will be the fastest car available, with top speeds in the 300+ mph range. Under the hood there will be 2,000hp ready at your beck and call, all of them hungry for records.
