C63 BLACK SERIES? UMM, YES PLEASE (pics)

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

BOOOYAA! Mercedes Benz’s limited Black Series vehicles always find a special place in our hearts. Merc’s newest edition to the Black Series family is the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe, which just got spotted making it’s debut in France by Speedfans (merci beaucoup!). According to them: “What i know right now from my colleague who was there is that its the 6.2 liters NA V8, with 517 ps [510 hp], around 640 NM of torque [472 lb-ft] (it’s nearly the same configuration as in the previous CLS63). Its 20kg [44lbs} lighter than the standard AMG coupe, LSD is standard, it has the MCT gearbox, 4 seats (first time on a Black), a bigger rear spoiler is optional as will be some more 'track focused' features (no details yet). On sale mid November in Germany for less than 100K euros, beginning of 2012 for the rest of the world. Don't know for the importation on your side of the Atlantic."

FIRST LOOK: 2012 BMW M5

Wednesday, June 15th, 2011

After months of spy photos, the good folks over at Bavarian Motor Works finally released official non-camo  photos and specs on the new 2012 M5, and yes, it’s awesome. Ditching the last models popular V10, the new M5 features a new 4.4 liter twin turbo V8, which actually produces about 10% more power. The new super sedan offers 560 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque making 0-60 at a scant  4.4 seconds.

TEAM HOTWHEELS INDY 500 RECORD BREAKING JUMP (VIDEO & PICS)

Monday, May 30th, 2011

Today seems to be day of writing about records being broken by things rolling down huge ramps (which is totally fine, since who doesn’t enjoy that?). Team Hot Wheels pulled off their larger than life stunt after the Indy 500 yesterday, successfully launching a baja styled truck 332 ft through the air after dropping in on a 10 story high “door” with ramp. Piloted by Top Gear host Tanner Foust (aka Team Hot Wheels Yellow Driver), this stunt is now the world record for farthest distance ever jumped by a 4 wheel vehicle.

THIS PORSCHE HAD AN UNFORTUNATE SCHMELTING ACCIDENT (PICS)

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Well, China certainly isn’t doing too shabby. Whereas most countries in the world would get a high five or a hand shake to celebrate 10 years of selling Porsche in their country, what does China get? A GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD 911 Turbo S (promise- no more Goldmember references). It’s official name in China is the “10 Year Anniversary Edition” (yawn) and there will be only 10 sold. The only real difference with this 911 compared to other 911 Turbo S’ is the added Aerokit turbo nose, Gold Bronze Metallic paint, a ton of carbon fiber bits and the black Sport Classic wheels. The cost? $537,000. I pity da fool who coughs that up.

We’d like to thank everyone who came out last weekend to our Grand Opening Celebration! Incase you didn’t make it, take a peek through the gallery to see some of the vehicles  that were there. Congrats to Mr. Gold for winning a new stereo and thanks to Nayden for taking some great pics!

Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0……YES PLEASE! (pics & video)

Friday, April 29th, 2011

“This might be the best RS we’ve ever made.” That’s a quote from the head of the  Porsche GT cars, Andreas Preuninger. And you know what? If Mr. Preuninger thinks that the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is the best yet, then GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. With only 600 being made the RS 4.0 is packing a 4.0 liter flat six that makes 500hp and it weighs in at only 2,998 lbs. Pricing starts out at $185,000. Chump change! Check out the GT3 RS 4.0 going around Porsche’s restricted test track below.

Gallardo’s More Rare and Better Looking Fraternal Twin- Audi R8 GT

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

With only 333 Audi R8 GTs being made, and only 90 of them coming to the US, limited edition never looked so damn good. The R8 GT is not only lighter than the standard R8 by 220 lbs, but it gets and extra 42 hp from the same 5.2 liter V10. That 560hp, that will propel you from 0-62 in 3.6 seconds. For all the other fun info, you can click here, but just look at this thing. UG. One of the rare occasions where a car this beautiful is made. Hat tip to Audi!

2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

After all the spy shots and random glimpses here and there, Lamborghini’s newest V12 flagship, the Aventador LP700-4 is finally here. The lighter, more powerful Lambo has a newly designed 6.5 litre V12 that produces 700hp, 60 more than the Murciélago it’s replacing. Thanks to the carbon fiber reinforced polymer structure (CFRP), which is also used in F1 race cars, the Aventador’s curb weight is just 3,472 lbs. That’s about 200 lbs lighter than the Murciélago, while the body’s torsional rigidity is much higher. This all makes for a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 217mph. Take a peek at the eye candy below. And even if you don’t speak German, the video is worth a watch just to see the car move, and for some acrobatic drumming (weird).

Sea Dog Brew Pub Opening

Friday, February 25th, 2011

We recently got to celebrate the opening of our friend Aaron’s newest restaurant/bar Sea Dog Brew Pub in Woburn, MA. We all had a great time and got to hang out with some of New England’s top athletes, including Brandon Meriweather and the one and only Shaquille O’Neal, who got to meet our larger than life F650. Make sure to swing in to the Sea Dog Brew Pub next time you are in Woburn! Props to our favorite photographer, Nick Keating, once again for covering the event.
